One command now installs the desktop app too

Installing Sproutkit Code now sets up the desktop app as well — no separate download, and no Gatekeeper or SmartScreen workaround.

Sproutkit has two halves: the command-line tool, which Claude drives, and the desktop app, where the map, the pipeline board and Workflows live. Leads you find in the terminal sync into the app. Until now you installed them separately, which meant two downloads and, on a Mac, a Terminal command to get past Gatekeeper.

From Sproutkit Code 1.9.0, setup installs the desktop app for you:

$ npm install -g sproutkit-code$ sproutkit setup

After your licence and keys, setup offers to install the desktop app and does it unless you say no. It downloads the right build for your machine (Apple Silicon, Intel or Windows), installs it, and clears the quarantine flag that made macOS call the app “damaged”.

Also new

  • sproutkit desktop installs the app if it’s missing, or opens it if it’s already there.
  • sproutkit desktop --update reinstalls the latest desktop release.
  • sproutkit doctor now reports whether the desktop app is installed.

Already on Sproutkit Code? Run sproutkit update, then sproutkit desktop.

Try it on your own patch

Sproutkit runs on your existing Claude subscription. Install it, point it at your town, and see what it finds.
